Congratulations to PROF’s newest elected officers

Elections have closed, and thank you to all those who ran in this year’s elections. We are proud to announce the thirteen newly elected officers who will serve the ACS Division of Professional Relations. Find more about each person and their elected role below.

  • Cary Supalo is a Research Developer at Educational Testing Service (ETS). Cary will now serve as part of the Chair succession from 2026 – 2028, starting next year as the 2026 PROF Chair-Elect.
  • Holly Davis is a Senior Quality Manager at Strados Labs, Inc. She was re-elected to serve another two-year term as PROF’s Treasurer.
  • Katherine Johnson is a Radiochemical Engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She has served in other leadership roles within PROF, such as the Younger Chemists subdivision Chair and part of the Chair succession. Katherine has been elected to a three-year term as a Councilor for PROF.
  • Sambuddha Banerjee is an Instructional Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. They have been active in PROF’s ACS Pride and Minority Chemistry subdivisions. Sambuddha will serve as an Alternate Councilor for the Division.
  • Dustin Demoin is a Director of Radiochemistry at EZIP. He has been an active member of the Division and also serves as the Chair for the ACS Nuclear Chemistry Division. Dustin is elected for a two-year term as Member-at-Large.
  • Pete Smith is a Professor of Chemistry at Westminster College. He has been recognized by PROF for his division leadership as he as served as Chair previously. Pete was re-elected to another two-year term as a Member-at-Large.
  • Alison Mody is a graduate student at Harvard University. She will serve as part of the Chair succession for the Chemists with Disabilities Subdivision for 2026-2027.
  • Theresa DeAngelo is the Quality Assurance and Safety Manager for the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division. Theresa has served multiple years as Ethics Subdivision Chair, which she has been elected to again for 2026-2027.
  • Manju Vengopal is a Senior Consultant at Innovative Diagnostics Technologies, LLC. She has been elected to extend her role as the Chair for the International Chemists Subdivision for 2026-2027.
  • Pravien Rajaram is a recent PhD graduate of University of California, Merced. He will serve as part of the Chair succession for the Minority Chemists Subdivision.
  • Suritra Bandyopadhyay is a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Suritra was recognized as an ACS Pride Merck Graduate Student Award recipient in 2024. He was elected to serve as part of the Chair success for the ACS Pride Subdivision for 2026-2027.
  • Safiya Nisar is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Dakota. She will serve as part of the Chair succession for the Women Chemists Subdivision.
  • Vishal Yadav is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Pennslyvania State University. He was recently honored as the 2025 Leadership Development Award recipient for PROF. Vishal will serve as part of the Chair succession for the Younger Chemists Subdivision.
